Genre: Fantasy
A granny on a farm loved to bake, specifically gingerbread cookies.
Once she finished baking the gingerbread men, she would leave them to cool on
the windowsill. When she would go to check on them, there was always a few missing.
She assumed the children nearby would come and take them but it turned out that
a little butterfly was encouraging them to get up and run away. Granny heard
the voice of the butterfly one afternoon and was shocked by what she saw. The
smallest of the gingerbread men jumped up and ran out of the window with the
butterfly. The gingerbread smelled so divine, that any place he would go, the
fear of being eaten followed him. He went through many obstacles with his
butterfly partner, until it led them to a gingerbread house beneath a pine
tree. The couple that lived in the home welcomed him and it became his new
home.
